| Job Description: | Job Summary: The Senior Tester will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing manual and automated test scripts to ensure high-quality software product releases. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of automation testing frameworks, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The Senior Tester will work closely with developers, manual testers/analysts, and product owner to create and maintain reliable test scripts, report on testing progress, and contribute to further test automation efforts. ________________________________________ 3 Key Responsibilities: • Test Planning and Analysis: o Work with business analysts and developers to understand user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements. o Create and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and testing documentation to support new and existing functionalities. o Conduct requirements analysis to identify test scenarios and test cases that need automation • Test Script design, automation and execution: o Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test scripts o Identify and recommend test automation strategies and best practices to enhance the software testing process. o Maintain and update existing automation frameworks, ensuring they are robust and adaptable to product changes. • Database Testing and Validation: o Write and execute queries/reports to validate database entries and ensure data consistency, accuracy, and integrity o Collaborate with developers and analysts to understand data flow o Develop automated tests to verify end-to-end data integrity from source systems to databases and ensure data accuracy across various layers. o Monitor and troubleshoot automated test run • Quality and Performance Tracking: o Track and report defects identified during testing, working closely with developers to resolve issues. o Monitor test coverage and report on test results, providing regular updates on testing progress and quality metrics. o Perform root-cause analysis on failed test cases to identify and resolve issues effectively. • Collaboration and Communication: o Work closely with developers, analysts and Product Owner to ensure test coverage aligns with business requirements. o Communicate testing status, key issues, and risks to project stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. o Participate in agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning and retrospectives, to align testing efforts with project timelines. ________________________________________ 4 Skills and Qualifications: • Technical Skills: o Proficiency in automation tools such as Robot Framework. o Experience with programming languages commonly used in test automation, such as Python o Understanding of test management tools (Xray for JIRA) o Able to write documentation in our knowledge management tool 'Confluence' o Familiarity with MicroStrategy Integrity manager is a plus • Testing and Quality Assurance: o Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, test planning, test case creation, and defect tracking. o Familiarity with data warehouse/reporting testing is a plus o Familiarity with non-functional testing (e.g., performance, security testing) is an advantage. • Soft Skills: o Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail. o Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment. o Self-motivated and able to work independently, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. ________________________________________ 5 Experience: • Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on automation. • Experience working in agile environments is highly preferred. • Software test certification is a plus (ISTQB, Testing in agile environments, ...)
