| Job Description: | Senior Software Automation Engineer Role Overview: We are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer who will be responsible for crafting, executing, and maintaining manual test plans and test cases, while also contributing to and enhancing existing test automation frameworks. The candidate will work closely with automation engineers to automate these test cases using modern tools such as Playwright with JavaScript. This role involves close collaboration with the software development team to ensure the delivery of high-quality software with full technical individual contribution. The ideal candidate may have a background in chemistry or materials science, which is beneficial but not mandatory. The opportunity to work on a wide range of technical problems across customers and help implement real solutions that address research challenges is a key aspect of this position. Key Responsibilities: ? Develop and execute test cases for front-end, back-end, and non-functional testing ? Leverage background in chemistry or materials science (if applicable) to support the quality process for domain-relevant software in the chemical and materials science industries ? Perform end-to-end manual testing of web, mobile, and desktop applications, ensuring compliance with business and technical specifications ? Interpret and understand software requirements and acceptance criteria to determine the scope of testing, including positive, negative, and edge case scenarios ? Identify, log, and track defects with detailed documentation and reproduction steps ? Execute various types of testing such as Functional, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Exploratory Testing ? Perform API testing using tools such as Postman (manual validation) ? Design and develop automated test scripts using Playwright with JavaScript ? Enhance and maintain the automation framework, ensuring robustness across application changes Qualifications: ? Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field (optional but preferred for candidates targeting chemical or materials science domains) ? Minimum of 4 years of experience in quality engineering, with at least 2+ years of hands-on experience in JavaScript-based test automation. ? Strong experience with Playwright, or similar JavaScript test automation frameworks. ? Familiarity with UI/UX testing principles and cross-browser compatibility testing ? Proven experience working in Agile or DevOps environments with cross-functional teams ? Strong analytical skills with effective problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities ? Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality software. Desired Skills: ? Experience in test automation and scripting development ? Practical experience with Playwright and JavaScript is highly desirable ? Strong foundation in software testing principles and the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) ?
